Link to Final Project

We were assigned the following for a final project in Assessments for E-Learning:

You will need to choose an online course that you are currently teaching or may teach in the future and begin to plan learning objectives, associated activities and the assessment piece and tech tool you could use for assessment.

To begin, you will first need to:

  • Write 4 module learning objectives – this is different than general course objectives – instead they are specifically written for one or more modules in your course. Each of the learning objectives will include the associated assessment. (Be sure to post these in the ‘practice writing learning objectives’ discussion forum for peer and instructor review).
  • Next choose an assessment tool that was most likely discussed in this course and connect it to a learning objective. (You will have 4 learning objectives and therefore 4 assessment tools).
  • Part of the narrative of your final project will discuss why you chose the tools as well as a writing about the advantages and challenges that may apply to use of these tools in your particular course.

You will also need to address this in your write-up:

  1. Description of the course content and student population
  2. List of learning objectives and final outcome for the course
  3. Discussion of why the 4 assessment tools would be appropriate choices for the course, the students, and the objectives.
  4. Notes on why your taxonomy of assessment choices is best for your students.
  5. Notes on how you will prevent plagiarism in this online course.
  6. You will also need to describe how you have addressed authenticity, diversity, and creation of a student-centered learning environment in your plans.

This capstone project brought together the various tools and techniques  presented in the Assessment for E-Learning course and  provided an opportunity to utilize them as a cohesive whole.

I decided to create it using Google.sites for clarity and to gain the experience.
