Tools for a online course created for faculty to familiarize and standardize concepts related to linking goals-outcomes-objectives-assessments. Many of the faculty at the target school are professionals with no previous teaching experience. Creative, knowledgeable and successful in their field many could use an introduction to fundamental pedagogical skills. In addition to familiarizing the faculty with best practices when teaching, this course also provides experience in using the Moodle Learning Management System and its deeper features.Revisions based on formative feedback which suggested more learner content and tools outside of Moodle.
I added five learner content tools; WebEx/Skype, Diigo, Google sites, Jing and Audioboo. These are all tools that I currently use and would integrate into the Course I am using as a basis for these assignments. By way of explanation, I had focused on Moodle tools because the target audience for this cousre would be faculty, many of whom resist using or are unaware of the features available in Moodle. As an example, there is still persistent use of ScanTron quizzes instead of the quiz bank feature available in Moodle that provides more variability and better potential for formative feedback. WebEx/Skype allow us to provide connection with experts in the field that would normally be cost prohibitive to bring to campus. WebEx/Skype allows students to participate from different locations even though it is a synchronous event. Those that cannot attend can view recorded versions when using WebEx. Diigo has been a life saver for organizing web resources. An example of Google Sites projects from a face to face class that could be adapted to e-learning. Google Sites Project Jing is a fallback tool I use often and Audioboo is one I intend to use more often when providing feedback.

| Moodle Learning Management System | Learner Content | All content and resources are found within the Moodle course. Content, links to outside resources and links to other collaborative tools. |
| Moodle Wiki | Learner to Learner | Provides an opportunity for the faculty as student to become familiar with this tool. Enables participants to express themselves using other means than text. I would expect videos form the video department, cool html stuff form the digital design department and audio from the recording department. |
| Moodle Discussion Forum | Learner to Learner, Learner to Facilitator | Only a few classes take advantage of this resource within Moodle. This is a valuable and useful tool for for face to face classes as well as online and hybrid ones. |
| Learner to learner, Learner to Facilitator | A necessary and common means of communication among all participants. | |
| WebEx/Skype | Learner Content | Provides the ability to present guest speakers and panel type synchronous activities |
| Diigo or other bookmarking system | Learner Content | Excellent way to distrubute groupings of web references with mark ups |
| Google Sites | Learner Content | Used to set up group “webquests” and projects |
| Jing | Learner Content | Powerful demonstrating tool that is particularly effective for visual learners |
| Audioboo | Learner Content | An excellent tool for providing feedback to aural learners |
